Műsorával sikert, a romák diszkriminációja elleni felhívásával azonban csak zúgolódást váltott ki bukaresti koncertjén Madonna.
- A pop csillaga szerdán és csütörtökön is a híradások középpontjában szerepelt, háttérbe szorítva a politikai eseményeket Romániában.
A Realitatea hírtelevízió mindenesetre minden híradásában annak a jelenetnek a lejátszásával kezdte az előző esti koncertről szóló tudósítását, amelyben az énekesnőt a közönség kifütyülte.
Madonna szólt néhány mondatot a diszkrimináció ellen
Az Izvor parkban összegyűlt mintegy hetvenezres közönség előtt ugyanis Madonna szólt néhány mondatot a diszkrimináció ellen. Megállapította, hogy egyre gyakoribbá váltak a romaellenes megnyilvánulások Kelet-Európában. “Minden ember egyenlő. Nem szabad diszkriminálnunk sem a romákat, sem a homoszexuálisokat” – mondta a popsztár, de szavait a közönség füttykoncerttel fogadta. A jelenlévők rosszallását az is kiváltotta, hogy a műsor keretében cigánytáncmotívumok is szerepeltek.
A román média összességében nem kommentálta a történteket, inkább a zenei produkció sikerét boncolgatta. A kommentátorok a koncert zenei színvonalát nagyszerűnek minősítették, így értékelték a közönségnek azok a tagjai is, akik viszonylag közel voltak a színpadhoz.
Sokan ostorozták viszont a rossz szervezést, például a rossz akusztikai viszonyokat, ami miatt a távolabbra állók közül sokan még előadás közben elhagyták a parkot. A helyszínen nagy volt a por, sokan zsebkendőjüket tették orruk és szájuk elé. Többen panaszkodtak, hogy nem volt megfelelő számú mellékhelyiség.
