Egy kétgyermekes apát saját fia szeme láttára öltek meg egy sörkertben.
A 28 éves David Stevenson barátai, családja és barátnője társaságában volt egy kocsmában, mikor két késsel rendelkező férfi megtámadta.
A nő miatt kezdtek el veszekedni, majd David-et a hátsó udvarra rángatták.
A kinti napsütésben ülő vendégek teljesen ledöbbentek, mikor a szemük láttára többször is megszúrták a férfit, majd saját vérében fürödve otthagyták.
Stevensont a St Helier Kórházba szállították, ahol sürgősségi műtéten esett át, de egy óra múlva életét vesztette.
Később három férfit tartóztattak le az ügyben, egyikük feltehetőleg az áldozat barátnőjének exbarátja. A másik kettő az ő 56 éves apja, valamint egy harmadik, 20 éves férfi.
Stevenson korábbi partnere, gyermekeinek édesanyja, Hayley Beach elmondta, sokkolta a hír, hogy ilyen szörnyűség történhetett egy családokkal tömött pubban.
A támadás idején az áldozat nyolc éves fia, Luke is a helyszínen volt. A véres eseményeket nem látta, de tudta, hogy valami történt.
A nyomozók arra készülnek, hogy körülbelül 35 embert hallgatnak ki, akik az incidens bekövetkeztekor a kocsmában tartózkodtak.
Az egyik szemtanú már nyilatkozott: „Tipikus augusztusi vasárnap este volt, több család ült kint, élvezték a napsütést. én a saját kertemben tartózkodtam, mikor egy vitára lettem figyelmes. Borzasztó volt, nem hittünk a szemünknek, mikor láttuk a fiatal férfi testét és a sok vért. A következő pillanatban már mindenhol rendőrök voltak.”
