Marilyn Mansontól már megszokhattuk, hogy a fél életét sminkben tölti, hiszen előadóművészként ezzel nyomatékosítja különcségen alapuló imázsát.
Az extrém és a félénk Manson
A negyvenéves híresség ezúttal – mintegy leleplezve valódi vonásait –
smink nélkül merészkedett az utcára, a lesifotósok nem kis örömére. A Marylin Manson zenekar frontembere alig ismerhető fel a képen a fehér alapon vastag fekete szem- és szájsmink, illetve a felemás színű kontaktlencsék hiányában. De be kell látni, így sem néz ki jobban, mint hullaarcú botrányhősként.
Az extrém kinézet azonban szorosan összefonódik Manson zenei világával. Nem beszélve arról, hogy a rajongók elvárásait is maximálisan kielégíti feltűnő megjelenésével. Ennek ellenére tud meglepetéssel szolgálni a Brian Hugh Warner néven született sztár. Ki gondolná például, hogy az uzsonnástáska- és a harisnyagyűjtés kedvenc elfoglaltságai közé tartozik? Az elvont gondolkodású művész a festegetésben is nagy örömét leli.
Mindenben kétarcú
Ilyenkor valódi énje kerül a felszínre, és már maga az alkotás is üdítően hat a lelkére. Mindez persze szöges ellentétben áll a színpadon produkált zúzós zenével. Ez a fajta kettősség már a névválasztásnál is jelen volt, hiszen művészneve Charles Manson sorozatgyilkos és Marylin Monroe szexszimbólum nevének egyesítéséből született.
A kétarcú sztár kapcsolataiban is ellentmondásosan nyilvánul meg. Miután egykori felesége, Dita Von Teese szakított vele, majdnem öngyilkos lett. Ami már csak azért is furcsa, mert az okot ő maga szolgáltatta azzal, hogy megcsalta Ditát a 19 éves Evan Rachel Wooddal.
Ezek után már azon sem lepődnénk meg, ha kijelentené, hogy kettős személyiséggel rendelkezik.
